care instructions

Special materials need special care

In order to preserve sustainable fashion for a particularly long time, it is worthwhile to familiarize yourself with the washing instructions. Because incorrect care can significantly reduce the longevity of clothing. Here you will find first aid for the correct handling of our materials.

Jeans & Pants

Jeans and trousers do not need to be washed frequently. The authentic selvedge denim is sold unwashed. Over time, individual wrinkles and wear appear that make each pair of jeans unique.

Stains can be brushed out with a brush. Just don't rub too hard, otherwise the stain will penetrate deeper into the fiber. To remove odors, the trousers can be placed in a freezer bag in the reezer overnight. If the trousers should be washed, follow the care instructions: a maximum temperature of 40 ° C, wash inside out, do not bleach.

Knitwear and sweatshirts

Organic cotton

Organic cotton is easy to care for. Odors can be removed by ventilation or steam (e.g. in the bathroom after the shower). Superficial stains can be brushed out with a soft brush - preferably dry. If you want to wash your shirt properly, pay attention to low temperatures of around 30 degrees and make sure that you do not spin the garment too hard.

Knit with organic new wool

Sweaters can also be placed in the freezer overnight to remove odors. Small knots on the sweater, called pilling, can be removed with a lint razor. Pilling can occur more frequently with organic wool because it has not been chemically treated.

When washing, please use wool detergent and, if possible, wash on the wool cycle of the washing machine. Water that is too hot is often used for hand washing. 30 ° C is colder than our skin temperature.Pullovers with a wool content must not be spun, otherwise there is a risk that they will shrink or become matted. After washing, the sweater should be pulled into shape when wet and dry lying down so as not to hang out.

Tops, dresses / jumpsuits and skirts

Organic cotton

If you want to wash your shirt properly, pay attention to low temperatures of around 30 degrees and make sure that you do not spin the garment too hard. If you like a very soft skin feeling when you wear it, you can use a sustainable, biodegradable organic fabric softener based on vegetable oil. Because untreated organic cotton can become dull and dry after a few washes.

Lyocell (TENCEL ™)

Reclaimed fibers such as Lyocell are relatively hard-wearing, but can react to acid. When washing, the detergent must not be put into the drum, only into the detergent drawer. Otherwise, direct contact between the detergent and the fabric may cause discoloration in the fabric. Please use mild detergent and wash in a laundry bag. After washing, the clothes should be hung up immediately, otherwise discoloration can also occur.

Silk

Clothes made of silk should be washed at low temperatures in the washing machine's gentle cycle. Washing that is too hot can damage the silk fibers. For this reason, the fabric should only be ironed at one point and a pad placed between the iron and silk for protection.

Jackets, coats and ready-made clothing
