1999

  • The idea of creating his own collection operating under the name ‘wunderwerk’ is born out of Heiko Wunder’s deeply held wish to develop the uncompromising products he stands for

2012

  • The wunderwerk brand is registered in the trade mark register on 09.02.2012
  • As wunderwerk is formed, the ‘more than organic.’ slogan is defined as the company's main tagline. ‘more than organic.’, since, firstly, simply using cotton yarn is not enough to really be sustainable and, secondly, because the emphasis is of course on fashion

2013

  • Rheinstoff GmbH & Co. KG, the company that designs and operates the wunderwerk brand, is founded
  • The first collection from wunderwerk for men and women launches
  • The ‘Don’t panic – it’s organic.’ slogan is established and one piece with a new version is incorporated within every collection
  • Delivery of uncompromising, sustainable, vegan jeans produced without toxic chemicals such as chlorine, potassium permanganate and featuring exceptionally low water consumption: no more than nine litres

2014

  • Presentation of the first collection at Berlin Fashion Week (trade show: Premium)
  • July: opening of the brand’s first proprietary store in Düsseldorf
  • Introduction and development of the ‘organic. no plastic. fantastic.’ slogan and renunciation of plastic packaging for all jeans
  • Founding of Rheinstoff E-Commerce GmbH for the wunderwerk brand’s proprietary online shop/official web shop
  • Awarded the Federal ECODESIGN prize by Germany’s Environment Ministry

2015

  • Shipment of the first vegan Selvedge Denim made from top-quality Italian denim
  • Winner of the ‘Best Business Women’ category at the PETA Vegan Fashion Awards
  • The first sustainable, compostable, plastic-free polybags/packaging created from cellulose enter production

2016

  • October: the company opens its own retail store in the hip Prenzlauer Berg area of Berlin 

2017

  • May: the company opens its own retail store in Berlin-Mitte, in the Hackescher Höfe complex

2018

  • The company undergoes a restructure, with Heiko Wunder taking over all parts of the company

2019

  • Attending NEONYT, the trade show for cool, sustainable fashion, at Berlin Fashion Week for the first time at Berlin-Tempelhof
  • April: the company opens its own retail store in Frankfurt

2020

  • March: the company opens its own retail store in Westerland on Sylt
  • August: relaunch of the homepage with information on the brand, sustainability and manufacturing processes, as well as customer information and the new online shop.

2021

  • July: Heiko Wunder is honored with the Fashion Business Award 2021
  • August: the company opens its own retail store in Kaldenkirchen
