Cashmere

The cashmere knit used by wunderwerk is also produced in small numbers in Inner Mongolia. The fibers used for this come from animals living in the wild.

The wool is gently combed out of the under hair, which yields approx. 150 grams per animal per year. The entire manufacturing process, from the fiber to the spun yarn to the knitted sweater, takes place in one and the same environment. In this way jobs are created on site and are retained in the long term. The knitting factories are small and manageable, the employees have a secure and good income and can live with their families in their home region without having to move to the larger cities - this creates sustainability from the extraction of raw materials to the finished product as a deliberate demarcation from mass production.
